Dear Colleague:
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Region 5 Education Service Center website!
Region 5 is one of the 20 regions across the great state of Texas, and consists of 39 school districts, 5 charter schools, approximately 170 campuses, and over 90,000 students.
This includes the counties of Jefferson, Jasper, Tyler, Orange, Hardin and Newton, as well as portions of Chambers, Liberty and Galveston Counties.
Our three-fold purpose is:
Assist school districts in improving student performance
Enable school districts to operate more efficiently and economically
Implement initiatives assigned by the legislature or the commissioner.
We are “Educational Professionals serving Educational Professionals” and it is a privilege to serve our districts as we reach toward the
common goal of helping every student succeed.
Respectfully,
Byron Terrier, Ed.D.
Executive Director
